Frequently Asked Questions

NOTE:  Some of the pictures below that are used to answer a question, may not have the exact colors or words as seen on the TCS website.  However, they are close and should provide you with enough guidance to answer your question.

Will I have life-time access to the videos and courses that I buy?

It depends on the product you purchase.  
  • You will have "life-time" access for any Ala Cart Videos you purchase, or as stated in my terms & conditions, as long as the Traveling Colors Studio website is active.  
  • For any courses with a LIVE component, for example the Mentor Program or Online Workshops, access to the videos and recordings will be for a limited time.  Mentor Program students have access to videos for 1 year.  Students of the Online Workshops usually have access to videos for 60 days.
  • The students of the Self-Guided Mentor Program also have access to videos for 1 year.
  • For any subscription based product, customers will have access for as long as the membership is active.  When membership is no longer active, the access to video content will cease.

Can I register for only ONE session of the Mentor Programs?

No. The program is designed for students to complete the program from start to finish. This is a course with a time
table. You have time within each session to work on each topic, but we will be moving on to the next topic at the start of the next session.  

This is also true for the Self-Guided Mentor Program.  This program is also designed for students to complete from start to finish.  Each week will build upon the previous week.

In the courses with LIVE Zoom Sessions, what if I can't make a Zoom Meeting?

All LIVE Zoom sessions will be recorded and available for viewing by all registered students during the program and for up to the specified time frame after the conclusion of each program.

How do I enroll in a FREE or Paid course/video?

You need to first sign-up for a FREE account on the TCS website before enrolling in any FREE or Paid course/video.  To sign-up for a free account, all you need is an email address and to create a password.  For Free videos, go to the 'Free Art Tip Videos' page and click on any video to watch.  If the course you want to enroll in is not free, click on the Enroll button (the course's prices should be visible right next to the button) and then follow the checkout process. When you finish, the course contents will unlock for you.

How can I Edit / Insert my account details (Profile Picture, Biography, Locations, etc.)

When logged in to the TCS Website, hover your mouse over the 'My Dashboard' drop-down menu and click on the 'Profile' sub-option.  This will lead you to your profile page.
Then click on the edit button and start changing your personal info. You can update your name and email, add a profile picture, add a short bio so other members of the community can learn more about you, and add your social accounts so that others can contact you.

What if I forgot my password OR I want to change my password?

Changing the password can be done from the TCS Website's login form (you have to be logged out). Go to the login form and click on the 'Forgot your password?' button that is located right under the Login button.
Insert the email of your account and click OK.
You will soon receive an email containing a link for resetting your password. If you don't receive this email after a few minutes, please check the spam folder of your email account as the reset email may have accidentally been held up by your spam filter.

How to send a private inbox message to another Student?

When logged in to the TCS Website, hover your mouse over the 'My Dashboard' drop-down menu and click on the 'Inbox' sub-option. This will lead you to your Inbox page.
Then click on the 'New message' button.
Select the student you would like to send the message to (start typing @ and the name of the student. A list of suggested student names will appear and you can pick the right one). Then fill out your message and click the send button.

How do I exit from the TCS Website?

If you want to logout from the TCS Website, simply hover your mouse over the 'My Dashboard' drop-down menu and click on the 'Sign out' sub-option.

I purchased a course/video. How do I access it?

If you have already purchased a course/video, you only need to visit the course or video page and you will have full access to the content.  Alternately, after signing in to the TCS website, your starting page will contain the courses/videos you have purchased, represented by course cards.  By clicking on a course card you will be directed to its contents.

How do I download course content?

If you are enrolled in a course (paid or not) you will have access to the whole course contents. In most cases, the contents are not available for download and you will need to be connected to the internet to access the contents through your browser. Certain material, like PDF files or PPT presentations may be available for download.

How do I navigate inside a course/video?

Once you access a course/video, you will find a full table of contents at the left-hand side of the screen. You can browse through these sections and access the section you would like to study. In most cases, you would be better off simply following the linear course order proposed by Brienne. In the future, you can always re-visit any section you wish. Note that sections you have visited/completed are marked with a check mark.

Do I have to be online at a specific time to take a course?

It depends on the course.  
1.  For any Ala Cart videos, Free videos, or the TC Video Club, you can access the content whenever you want.  All you need is internet access and a fairly modern browser.
2.  For a course with any LIVE component (i.e. the TC Mentor Program or an Online Workshop), there maybe specific times when content is available.  Also, any LIVE meeting will be on a specific date and time. 
3.  For the Self-Guided Mentor Program, you can start the program at anytime.  However, the content will be dripped to the student on a weekly basis after you have started the program.

Can I take more than one course at a time?

Yes. You can take as many courses as you wish.  Note that the TC Mentor Program and the Self-Guided Mentor Program have similar content and so it would not be advisable to take these courses simultaneously.  

What Browsers are supported?

We support the latest versions of all well-known browsers. For optimal studying experience we recommend using Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.

Can I take the courses on my iPad or tablet?

Of course you can. The TCS Website is fully responsive for all kinds of electronic devices.

Can I take the courses on my iPhone or smartphone?

Of course you can. The TCS Website is fully responsive for all kinds of mobile devices. For optimal experience, you can use the mobile version of Google Chrome, if your device supports it.

Is Internet Access Required?

Internet access is required since all of the course contents are online. We also recommend using a broadband internet connection, especially when you have to go through video content.

Recommended Technology?

Just a broadband Internet connection and the latest version of your favorite browser.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All major credit cards and PayPal are accepted. 

How do I cancel a course?

For cancelling a course enrollment or asking for a refund please contact the TCS Website owner, Brienne.  Her contact info can be found in the 'Account' option under the 'My Dashboard' drop-down menu.  Full refunds for any reason will be provided up to 48-hours after purchase.

How do I cancel a subscription?

You may cancel your subscriptions at any time.  For canceling a subscription for membership in one of Brienne's clubs, you just need to simply hover your mouse over the 'My Dashboard' drop-down menu and click on the 'Account' sub-option.  In your 'Account', you can click on the subscription listed and cancel it.  You will retain membership until the end of the billing cycle, after which time you will not be billed again.

Troubleshooting issues with Video

The video players automatically try to adjust the video quality to your internet speed, giving you the highest quality possible.  With very slow Internet connections, this might not be possible. If you’re experiencing excessive buffering during playback, it’s probably because your Internet connection cannot support continuous playback of the video. In this case try to reset your connection/internet router or, if possible, try accessing your online courses using a better Internet connection.

You may also manually change the video playback quality by clicking on the 'settings' icon (see the orange arrow below). 
You may also want to try one of the following: 1. Close extra browser tabs or other applications that may be using up your bandwidth. 2. Make sure you're using the latest version of your browser.

How long does it take to complete a course?

It depends on the course. Each course has different time requirements.

What will you do with my e-mail address?

Your e-mail address is required to create an account on the TCS Website. It is fully safe with us and your information will not be shared with anyone.  See our Privacy Policy for full information.  We will use it only to communicate with you with respect to a course, account info, or when otherwise necessary.

Can I sample a course or lesson before deciding to purchase a course?

In many cases, there is a trailer you can watch before deciding to purchase a course.

How do I know that you have received my order?

Once your payment has been successfully processed, your course will be immediately accessible to you. If the course hasn't unlocked, despite your payment going through, then please contact Brienne and you will be given access to the course asap.

How soon will I get access to my courses?

You will get access to your course(s) immediately after you make an online purchase (or when you have been manually enrolled by Brienne).  However, there are some courses (i.e. the TC Mentor Program and Online Workshops) where access to the content is date dependent. 

Are there prerequisites for the courses or lessons?

In most cases there are no prerequisites and you can take any course you want independently. For certain courses that do have prerequisites, this will be clearly written in the course description. 

Where is the invoice for the course I just bought?

You can find fully detailed invoices for all the courses you have purchased in the Account page, which can be found by hovering your mouse over the 'My Dashboard' drop-down menu and click on the 'Account' sub-option.  If you made a purchase outside the TCS Website, then you can contact Brienne for an invoice.

I was given a discount coupon. How can I use it to buy a course/video with a discount?

Buying a course/video with a discount coupon is not much different from the normal checkout process.
1) Go to the course/video page for which you have a coupon and click 'Enroll'.
2) You will be automatically redirected to the 'Enroll in Course' page. Type your coupon code in the textbox and click Redeem.
3) The discount will be automatically calculated in the final price.
4) You can now finalize the purchasing process by clicking on the 'Buy' button
