A Painting Exercise
Watch Brienne paint an oil painting on site, evaluate the plein air study in the studio, and then paint a watercolor from the oil study. This may seem backwards, but Brienne will discuss how each medium has strengths and how to benefit from this type of exercise. By using both watercolor and oil for the same scene, Brown will demonstrate how she uses the oil study to better understand the subject and then translate that into a watercolor in her studio.
